For more than forty-nine (49) years, the Tallahassee Urban League, Inc. (TUL) has provided outreach services to the most disenfranchised citizens in Florida’s capital region in the areas of housing rehabilitation, housing counseling, youth crime prevention and intervention, job referral, victim support services, health promotion, emergency food, shelter, and historic preservation in the Greater Frenchtown Community. The TUL is a 501 © 3 private non-profit social service organization which was established in Tallahassee in 1969 to provide services to African Americans and other low-income residents.

The TUL contributes to positively impacting the community’s housing and education needs through the past and current expanding activities of its eight community outreach programs. These programs include: the Housing Rehabilitation Program, Black on Black Crime Prevention Program, the Housing Counseling program, the Financial Literacy Program, the Youth Enrichment and Skills Development Program, the GED Program, the Housing Acquisition Program, and historic preservation of the African American culture.

The TUL has rehabilitated more than 700 homes in the Tallahassee and Leon County community for low-income citizens. In addition, the TUL has successfully fostered and guided hundreds of youth through the achievement of their GED, and assistance with their goals of employment. We have provided opportunities for low-to-moderate income families to achieve the American dream of home ownership and shelter for their families.

We are the Tallahassee Urban League, Inc. and remember: We Are Making A Difference!
